Chad O’Kane, Chair
Chad is the Director of Development at Wilmington Friends School, a PK-12 Quaker school in Wilmington, DE. In his role, Chad manages a staff of 7, and oversees the major giving, planned giving, annual giving, and alumni relations functions for the school, and also serves on the school’s senior administrative team. Prior to this role, Chad was co-founder and Vice President of Premier Pool Renovations in Plymouth Meeting, PA, a high-end commercial and residential swimming pool restoration company, where he oversaw the growth of the company from startup to more than $2 million in annual revenue. Chad received a Bachelor of Arts in Media Studies from James Madison University in 1999, and a Master of Arts in Communication from Virginia Tech in 2011. His master’s thesis focused on media literacy education in K-12 public schools.
Rachel Locke, PhD – Treasurer
Rachel graduated with honors with a degree in Economics from Swarthmore University and went on to earn her PhD in Neurology from Washington University School of Medicine. Rachel is a self employed grant writer working in the Philadelphia area concentrating in the medical field.
Dr. Kristen Lohr, VMD – Paws and Affection Veterinarian
Kristen is a veterinarian at Devon Vet Hospital in Devon, PA. She began working there in 1999 upon graduation from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. She grew up in Malvern and spent her weekends working for a local veterinarian starting at the age of 16. She attended the University of Pennsylvania for her undergrad and earned a degree in Biology. Her specialties in the veterinary field are surgery and behavior medicine. Kristen and Devon Vet Hospital are the primary care givers to the Paws and Affection team and they couldn’t be in better hands!
Sandy Masayko, M.Ed., OTR/L
Sandy is Director of Assistive Technology at Easter Seals of Southeastern PA. For over 40 years she has worked as an occupational therapist and special educator with people with disabilities of all ages in their homes, schools and communities. Sandy received her professional education in Occupational Therapy at the University of Pennsylvania and a Master’s Degree in Education from Temple University.
Liz is a certified dog trainer and has been working with dogs and clients on the main line since 2003. She has a degree in Animal Behavior from Boston University and has attended a multitude of training seminars throughout her career. Liz is passionate about canine behavior and is fueled by a love of dogs and how dogs interact with each other, with people, and with their environment.
Lisa is a lifelong dog lover and is thrilled to serve on the board of Paws and Affection. She got her first dog, Randy (a miniature schnauzer), when she was 10 years old. Lisa has since raised and loved three Irish Setters, three black labs, one white lab, one yellow lab, and another miniature schnauzer. Professionally, Lisa taught elementary school in the Upper Darby school district. She is a graduate of the University of Miami and holds a Masters degree in Education from Temple University. She lives in Wynnewood with her husband Bob and their labs, Lexi and Chloe. They also have three children.
Emily has spent the past 16 years as a director of admissions at various private schools in the Philadelphia area. She brings a breadth of knowledge regarding fundraising and financial aid processes to our board along with a high energy and enthusiasm. Emily graduated from Georgetown University cum laude with a degree in French.
